USB 3.0 A Male to Female Panel Adapter

This panel-mount adapter bridges a USB 3.0 Type A male plug to a female keystone jack. It is designed for installers who want a clean, front-facing USB port on a wall plate or patch panel. The eight-inch cable keeps the connection tidy behind the plate.

USB 3.0 data rate up to 5 Gbps

The link supports USB 3.0 signalling with data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps. This bandwidth determines whether external hard drives, flash drives or other USB-A peripherals will run at full speed through the wall-plate installation.

Suits home, office or lab wall-plate installs

Builders who need a snap-in keystone jack for a standard wall plate will find the reusable insert easy to fit and relocate. Installers requiring a longer cable run, a different connector type or USB 2.0-only wiring should look at other options.

Questions about this item

What does the 5 Gbps rating mean when the adapter is installed in a wall plate?

It sets the maximum USB 3.0 data rate available to any device plugged into the female keystone jack, provided the host port and cable also support USB 3.0.

Which USB standard does the male-to-female keystone link use, and what does it limit?

The link uses USB 3.0 Type-A connectors, capping transfer speed at 5 Gbps and requiring USB 3.0 hosts and cables to reach that rate.

What size cut-out does the keystone jack need to snap into a standard wall plate?

The female keystone insert fits the industry-standard keystone opening used in most wall plates and patch panels.
