Connects a PC to a dial-up line via USB with two RJ11 ports for simultaneous phone and fax use
The TeKit USB 56K external modem connects a PC to an analogue telephone line for data, fax and voice calls. It suits users who maintain legacy dial-up access or need a dedicated fax line without a standalone machine. Two RJ11 ports allow a telephone handset and the line to share the device.
The modem follows V.90 and V.92 standards, capping downloads at 56 Kbps and uploads at 48 Kbps. Fax transmission reaches 14.4 Kbps using Group 3 Class 1. Line quality, distance from the exchange and ISP support determine actual throughput, which is often well below the rated maximum.
A USB cable and driver CD are included for Windows 98 SE through Windows 10. The modem draws power from the USB port so no external supply is needed. Installation fails if the CD driver is skipped on newer Windows versions or if the telephone cable is seated in the wrong RJ11 jack.

This modem has two RJ11 ports so you can connect both a telephone and a fax device at the same time.
Real-world download tops out at 56 Kbps, upload at 48 Kbps, and fax at 14.4 Kbps on a clean analogue line.
It connects through USB, so the modem is limited by the USB bus and the 56 Kbps V.90/V.92 ceiling, not by a legacy serial port.
