Tele Vue Delos 8mm 1.25" Eyepiece

The Tele Vue Delos 8mm is a 1.25-inch eyepiece designed for telescopes, providing a 72-degree apparent field of view. It uses anti-reflective multicoated optics to deliver bright, high-contrast, and colour-faithful images. An adjustable rubber eyecup helps control stray light and improves contrast during observation sessions.

Lunar and planetary observers needing high

This eyepiece suits astronomers who want detailed views of the Moon and planets with a generous 20mm eye relief that accommodates eyeglass wearers. Observers seeking maximum true field for large deep-sky objects or those using 2-inch focusers without an adapter should consider other focal lengths or barrel sizes.

8mm focal length sets the magnification

The 8mm focal length determines the power delivered by your telescope; divide the telescope focal length by eight to find the resulting magnification. Choose this model when that magnification matches the seeing conditions and the target you intend to study.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the 1.25" Delos eyepiece and what must be purchased separately?

The eyepiece ships with an adjustable rubber eyecup; any telescope, diagonal, filters or Barlow lenses are separate purchases.

Which version of the Delos 8 mm should I choose for planetary work?

The 8 mm focal length with 72° apparent field and 20 mm eye relief is the single specification offered for this model.

What does the 72° figure mean when I put the eyepiece in my telescope?

It gives a 72° apparent field of view, so the visible sky circle appears wide and immersive at the magnification produced by your telescope’s focal length.
