Outdoor Security Camera

The Telus ADC-V723X is a wireless 1080p security camera built for outdoor monitoring. It captures 1920x1080 video across a 117° field of view and uses HDR to balance mixed lighting. Dual-band Wi-Fi on 2.4 and 5 GHz keeps the connection steady. IP66 weather resistance and a -25°C to 45°C operating range suit exposed mounting locations.

Upgrade From Basic Cameras

This model replaces cameras that lack night vision, smart analytics, or reliable outdoor ratings. The jump is worth it when you need 40-foot night vision and onboard detection that distinguishes people, vehicles, and animals. Encrypted local recording with Smart View adds privacy without a subscription. Audio capture gives extra context that silent sensors miss.

Capacity And Headroom

The ADC-V723X comfortably handles 24/7 outdoor surveillance with clear day and night footage. It runs out of reach when a scene demands optical zoom, multi-camera sync, or local storage beyond the onboard encrypted buffer. Buyers who need continuous weeks of footage or pan-tilt control should look at dedicated NVR systems.

Questions about this item

What does the IP66 rating mean for mounting this camera outdoors?

The IP66 rating confirms the housing is dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets, so the camera can be mounted on any exterior wall or eave without additional weather shielding.

Which mounting hardware is included and what is the common alignment mistake?

The box supplies a mounting bracket and screws; the frequent error is aiming the 117° field of view at a bright sky or reflective surface, which washes out the 1080p HDR image.

How often should the night-vision LEDs be checked for reliable 40-foot range?

Inspect the IR illuminators once a year and clean the lens cover; the LEDs are rated for continuous operation from -25°C to 45°C and do not have a user-replaceable module.
