Four-bay direct-attached storage

The TerraMaster D4-320 is a four-bay USB 3.2 Gen2 enclosure that connects via a Type-C port at up to 10 Gbps. It accepts up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA drives, each up to 32 TB, for a total raw capacity of 128 TB. The unit is diskless, fan-cooled and powered by an included 72 W adapter.

Suits single-disk workflows, not hardware RAID

This enclosure presents each drive independently to Windows, macOS or Linux with no onboard RAID controller. It fits users who want simple JBOD expansion, hot-swappable trays and tool-free push-lock installation. Builders who need hardware RAID levels, network-attached sharing or NVMe slots should look elsewhere.

USB 3.2 Gen2 10 Gbps Type-C interface

The single upstream connection determines the maximum throughput: 1016 MB/s aggregate across four hard drives or 510 MB/s from a single SATA SSD. If the host port or cable cannot sustain 10 Gbps, real-world speeds will be lower.

Questions about this item

Will the D4-320 work with the SATA 3.5-inch drives I already own?

Yes, each bay accepts 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA drives up to 32 TB, so your existing SATA drives will fit and run at their native speed.

How can I confirm the enclosure is delivering the advertised 10 Gbps link after I plug it in?

Check the OS device manager or system report — it should list the connection as USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gbps, and a single SSD inside the box can reach about 510 MB/s in real-world transfers.

Does the package include drives or only the enclosure and cables?

The box contains the host unit, a 100 V–240 V power adapter and cord, a 0.8 m USB Type-C to Type-C 10 Gbps cable, a quick installation guide, mounting screws and a warranty note — drives are not included.
