The coupler contains no internal battery and cannot hold a charge on its own.

Upgrade from Swappable Proprietary Batteries

Instead of carrying and charging multiple proprietary packs, you connect a single non-proprietary power bank or wall adapter and hot-swap fresh USB batteries without cutting power to the camera. The jump is worth it when a shoot lasts longer than one internal battery can sustain or when stopping to change cells would miss critical frames. It does not suit users who only shoot short bursts and prefer the simplicity of a self-contained battery.

Simple Battery-Cavity Installation

Slide the coupler into the battery compartment and close the door fully; the cable exits through the rubber trapdoor and the system will not function if the door remains ajar. The only common issue is forgetting to seat the door completely, which breaks the circuit. A separate Case Relay Camera Power System is required, so verify you have that unit before purchasing.
