PET Cloth Harness Tape

The Install Bay 51026 tape is a single-layer fabric wrap designed for automotive wiring harnesses. It uses a PET fleece carrier with an acrylic-based adhesive that bonds securely to wire looms. The roll measures 3/8 inch wide by 82 feet long and is built for cross-wise application perpendicular to the wire direction.

Wiring Integration Needs

This tape fits into a build by wrapping directly onto bundled conductors in engine bays or cabin looms. It requires clean, dry surfaces for the adhesive to grip and a installer willing to spiral-wrap perpendicular to the wire run. It frees the harness from abrasion against chassis edges and eliminates buzzing where panels meet.

Temperature And Noise Benefits

The acrylic adhesive remains functional from minus 40 degrees up to 150 degrees Celsius, so the wrap will not unravel during cold starts or turbo heat soak. The 10.2 MIL PET fleece dampens vibration noise between contacting panels while adding a layer of abrasion armour. The result is an OEM-look finish that protects both insulation and surrounding trim.
