Installation tape for vehicle interiors

The Install Bay IB951618 is a PET fleece cloth tape designed for wrapping wire harnesses inside passenger compartments. Each roll measures 3/8 inch wide by 82 feet long and is sold as a two-pack. The rubber-based adhesive bonds securely while the single-layer construction keeps bundles flexible for easy routing.

Suited for audio installers and DIY wiring projects

This tape works well for car audio looms, home electrical wiring and bare wire insulation where noise damping and abrasion resistance matter. It is not intended for high-temperature engine bay exposure, outdoor weather sealing or applications that require a certified flame-retardant sleeve.

Hand-tearable tape with 9.84 MIL thickness

The 9.84 MIL thick fleece tears cleanly by hand for quick application without tools. Stable unwind force of 4.6 N per roll at 30 m/min delivers consistent tension while wrapping, and the rubber adhesive maintains grip through temperature cycles.

Questions about this item

What size wire harness can the 3/8-inch wide tape bundle securely?

The 9.84 MIL thick PET fleece tape is tear-resistant and designed to bundle harnesses in passenger compartments while staying flexible in extreme temperatures.

Will the rubber-based adhesive hold on older cloth-loomed wiring without damaging the insulation?

The tape uses a rubber-based adhesive optimised for manual application and strong adhesion on interior harnesses, and it is hand-tearable for quick, controlled wrapping.

How can I confirm the tape is unwinding with the correct tension during application?

The roll is engineered for a stable unwind force of 4.6 N at 30 m/min, giving constant behaviour so you feel consistent resistance while wrapping.
