Rough-in kit for 8" speakers

This two-pack of Theater Solutions RK8C rough-in kits prepares ceilings for 8-inch round in-ceiling speakers. The ABS plastic frames are built for new construction or remodel projects where speakers will be flush-mounted later.

Adjustable mounting and wire management

Each kit includes 26-inch plastic bands that tack between 2x4 studs so the mount can slide to the exact placement you need. A built-in hook holds speaker wire until connection, and a removable cover keeps debris out of the cavity during construction.

9.625-inch cutout for specific models

The flange depth matches standard drywall thickness and the hole diameter is 9.625 inches, designed for Theater Solutions TS80C and CS8C speakers. Verify your speaker dimensions before purchasing because not all 8-inch flush-mount speakers share this cutout size.

Questions about this item

Will the 26 inch plastic mounting bands need replacement after the drywall is up?

The 26 inch bands are temporary installation aids tacked between studs; once the drywall is installed and the speaker is mounted, the bands remain inside the cavity and do not require replacement.

What limits how many of these rough-in kits can be installed in a single ceiling run?

The 9.625 inch hole diameter and the 26 inch band span between studs set the physical spacing limit; each kit occupies one stud bay and must align with the speaker cutout.

Do the ABS plastic frames warp or emit heat when speakers run all day at high volume?

The ABS frames are passive mounting hardware with no electrical components; they do not generate heat or noise, and normal speaker operating temperatures will not deform the plastic.
