Thinkstar PS-82-96 8-port PoE network switch 120W

Eight-port PoE switch for security deployments

This unmanaged 10/100 Mbps switch delivers power and data to eight IEEE 802.3 af/at devices such as IP cameras or wireless access points. Each PoE port supplies up to 30 W while the total PoE budget reaches 120 W. The unit is built for installers who need a simple, fanless solution for small surveillance networks.

Dual uplink ports and long-range mode

Two additional 10/100 Mbps RJ45 uplink ports connect the switch to a core switch or router without consuming a PoE port. When the extend function is enabled, ports 1-8 drop to 10 Mbps but can transmit up to 250 meters over existing twisted-pair cabling, overcoming cable-age limitations. Non-PoE devices attached to any port are detected automatically and receive data only.

Sustained load behaviour under full PoE budget

With all eight ports drawing near their 30 W limit the switch operates within its 120 W power envelope without active cooling. Wire-speed, non-blocking forwarding ensures consistent frame delivery during continuous video streams. The extend mode trades bandwidth for distance, so sustained throughput on ports 1-8 is limited to 10 Mbps when the 250-meter reach is active.
