Two-pack 14.4 V Ni-MH power-tool batteries

This two-pack supplies 14.4 V nickel-metal-hydride cells rated at 4.0 Ah each, coloured yellow to match DeWalt cordless tools. They are built as direct replacements for the original packs used in drills, drivers and flashlights across the 14.4 V platform. The pair gives a spare on charge while the other runs the job.

Replaces legacy Ni-Cd packs with higher capacity

These Ni-MH units replace the older Ni-Cd batteries such as the DC9091, DE9038, DW9091 and DW9094, delivering 4000 mAh instead of the lower amp-hour ratings those cells provided. The jump is worth it when longer run-time between charges matters more than the slight weight increase. Users who only need occasional short tasks may not notice the difference.

Simple slide-on fit; watch for dirty contacts

Installation is a straight slide onto the tool’s battery rail until the latch clicks, with no wiring or firmware steps. The most common issue is oxidised contacts on either the pack or the tool, which can prevent charging or cause intermittent power. A quick clean with a brass brush usually restores full function.
