Smart RGB Ceiling Light Kit

The Thomasville Lighting MELEGAN is a 12 inch flush-mount fixture that combines a tunable white front panel with an RGB backlight. It draws 24 watts and connects to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network for app and voice control via Alexa or Google Assistant. The acrylic diffuser produces even, flicker-free illumination with a CRI of 90 for accurate colour rendering. Suitable for indoor residential spaces such as bedrooms or living rooms.

App Voice Music Sync Features

The companion iOS or Android app lets you adjust the front light from 2700K to 6500K and dim it from 1% to 100% brightness. The rear RGB ring offers 16 million colours and dynamic scene modes for mood or holiday lighting. A built-in music sync mode changes the backlight colours in time with audio playback. Timers and schedules automate daily routines without manual interaction.

Installation And Compatibility Checks

Verify that your ceiling junction box supports a flush-mount fixture weighing 0.83 kilograms and that the 11.8 inch square footprint clears any obstructions. Confirm your home Wi-Fi broadcasts a 2.4 GHz band, as the device will not connect to 5 GHz networks. Ensure the intended room is dry and indoor only, because the unit is not water resistant. A neutral wire in the switch box may be required depending on local wiring practice.

Questions about this item

How long do the integrated LEDs last before the whole fixture needs replacing?

The 24-watt LED array is rated for long life and can save up to 85 percent on electricity, so the fixture itself is the replacement unit when output eventually fades.

What limits continuous operation — heat buildup or the Wi-Fi connection?

The unit only connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so a congested or weak 2.4 GHz network will interrupt app and voice control before thermal limits become an issue.

Does the 12-inch acrylic diffuser get hot or make noise after running all day?

The flush-mount LED design runs silently and stays cool to the touch during extended use, with no fan or moving parts to generate heat or sound.
