Smart desk lighting with integrated USB hub

The Thomasville Lighting Z16 is a table-mounted light kit designed for indoor or outdoor use. It delivers RGBIC dynamic gradients, sound-reactive music sync, stepless dimming and adjustable white light from 2700 K to 6500 K. Screen colour matching runs through the AKKLED desktop application on Windows 7 or later and macOS 12.0 or later. Buyers who need a hardware colour sensor on the bar itself will not get that capability here.

Built-in expansion dock adds connectivity

The base includes a Type-C port and a USB port supplying 5 V at 1 A for charging peripherals. This reduces cable clutter by letting you power devices directly from the light stand. The fan-shaped base increases contact area and lowers the centre of gravity to resist tipping. Users who require higher-wattage charging or additional port types will not find them on this unit.

36 W LED output at 12 V input

The kit consumes 36 watts from a 12 volt supply and uses LED bulbs in an acrylic housing measuring 3.9 in by 3.9 in by 17.7 in. It weighs 1.08 kg and carries a three-year warranty. Installers needing a different voltage, wattage or mounting method should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the USB-C hub on the Z16 need a firmware update to keep charging peripherals?

The built-in USB-C hub delivers a steady 5V/1A for charging peripherals and requires no firmware updates to maintain that function.

What limits continuous screen-sync operation on the Z16?

The AKKLED desktop software must stay running on Windows 7+ or macOS 12.0+ to drive real-time colour matching; closing the app stops the sync.

How warm does the Z16 base get after hours of 36 W RGBIC use?

The 36 W LED draw and 5 V/1 A hub output produce only mild warmth; the fan-shaped base acts as a passive heatsink and stays comfortable to touch.
