1:1 Scale F/A-18C Hornet Grip

The Thrustmaster F/A-18C Hornet HOTAS Add-On Grip is a 1:1 scale replica of the actual fighter jet flight stick handle, officially licensed by Boeing. It is built from industrial-grade materials for maximum product lifespan and authentic tactile feedback. This add-on grip is designed for PC flight simulation enthusiasts seeking a realistic control interface. It requires a compatible Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar or HOTAS Warthog joystick base, sold separately, to function.

19 Action Buttons and Hat Switches

The grip provides 19 action buttons including a realistic two-step trigger and one eight-direction Point of View hat switch. Additional controls comprise two four-direction hat switches with push buttons, one two-way button with push button, and four extra push buttons including two pinky push buttons. This layout delivers a comprehensive range of commands for complex flight manoeuvres without needing keyboard input. Button 19 is not implemented when used with the HOTAS Cougar base.

Native DCS World Integration

Native integration with the DCS World F/A-18C module allows immediate recognition of the grip's controls within that simulation environment. The device is also compatible with all other flight simulation games on PC for broad software support. No standalone software suite or driver configuration utility is bundled with the product. The package contains only the physical grip assembly for attachment to an existing base.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the grip to my Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog base, and which button will not work?

The grip mounts directly onto the Warthog base; button 19 is not implemented on that base, while the other 18 buttons and the 8-direction hat switch function normally.

What parts may wear out first and need replacement after heavy use?

The 2-step trigger mechanism, the 8-direction point-of-view hat switch, and the two 4-direction hat switches with push buttons are the moving components most likely to require service over time.

When flying long sessions in DCS, what limit appears first — heat, button fatigue, or software recognition?

The grip is a passive metal-and-plastic handle with no electronics of its own, so it generates no heat; the practical limit is physical fatigue from the 19-button layout during extended sorties.
