Radiant 16 300Hz gaming laptop

The Thunderobot Radiant 16 is a 16 inch gaming laptop built around a 300 Hz WQXGA IPS panel. It targets competitive players and creators who need high refresh rates and accurate colour in a portable Windows 11 Home system.

Intel Core i9-14900HX 24 core processor

The single specification that decides fit is the Intel Core i9-14900HX with 24 cores, 32 threads and 36 MB L3 cache reaching 5.8 GHz max turbo. That core count and frequency ceiling determine whether the machine can handle heavy simulation or compile workloads.

Sustained load behaviour

Under sustained load the 14900HX maintains high frequencies across its 24 cores while the RTX 5080 16 GB GPU drives the 300 Hz display. The 16 GB DDR5 4800 memory and 512 GB PCIe SSD keep data flowing without throttling the pipeline.

Questions about this item

Will the 512 GB drive be enough for a handful of modern games, or should I plan to add another drive?

The laptop includes a 512 GB PCIe M.2 SSD; the chassis supports up to 4 TB, so you can install a second drive later if the space fills up.

Can the 16 GB of DDR5 memory be upgraded to the 64 GB maximum mentioned in the specifications?

Yes, the system uses DDR5 4800 modules and the board accepts up to 64 GB, so you can add more sticks when you need extra capacity.

Does the single HDMI port support an external 4 K monitor at high refresh rates?

The HDMI output can drive an external display; the internal panel runs at 2560 x 1600 and 300 Hz, so the GPU is capable of high-resolution, high-refresh output.
