Tiffen 58HZE 58mm UV Haze 1 camera filter

Lens protection and UV control

The Tiffen 58mm UV Haze 1 filter screws onto any lens with a 58mm front thread. It absorbs roughly three quarters of ultraviolet light to reduce the bluish cast that appears in high-altitude or long-distance shots. The glass also shields the front element from dust, moisture, fingerprints and scratches. It is designed to stay on the lens during everyday shooting.

Thread size constraint

The filter only fits lenses that have a 58mm filter thread. Lenses with a different thread diameter cannot accept this filter without a step-up or step-down ring, which is not included. Wide-angle lenses with a 58mm thread are compatible, but the filter will not mount on smaller or larger threads.

UV absorption level

This model absorbs almost three quarters of UV light, providing general-purpose haze reduction for most outdoor situations. Buyers who need stronger UV cutoff for extreme altitude or specialised scientific work should look for a filter with a higher absorption rating.
