Domke X-Ray Bag Small 15 Rolls

The Domke X-Ray Bag Small holds 15 rolls of 35mm film and shields unprocessed film from fogging and streaking caused by low-dosage airport X-ray machines. A lead-impregnated vinyl layer sits between a water-resistant ballistic nylon outer shell and a smooth 420 Denier nylon packcloth interior. A full-length Velcro closure seals out dust and weather.

Travellers carrying undeveloped film

Photographers and travellers who carry unprocessed 35mm rolls in carry-on luggage will benefit from the tested X-ray shielding. The bag is not intended for checked baggage, which receives much higher radiation doses, so users who must check their film should seek a different solution. It also does not accommodate sheet film formats, which require the larger size.

Triple-layer construction and Velcro seal

The three-layer build combines ballistic nylon, lead-impregnated vinyl and 420 Denier packcloth to block X-rays while resisting water and abrasion. The wide Velcro closure keeps contents secure from dirt and moisture during transit. When not in use the bag stores flat or can be used as a protective wrap for other small items.

Questions about this item

How many 35 mm rolls fit inside the Domke X-Ray Bag Small?

The small bag holds 15 rolls of 35 mm film, which is the capacity printed on the 71112 model label.

Will the lead-impregnated vinyl layer affect the magnetic media or digital cards I keep in the same carry-on?

The shielding is designed for low-dosage carry-on X-ray machines and does not emit magnetism, so it will not interfere with magnetic media or digital cards stored alongside it.

How can I confirm the bag is still shielding film after several trips?

The InVision Technologies test mark and the intact triple-layer construction — ballistic nylon exterior, lead-impregnated vinyl core, 420 Denier nylon interior — indicate the shielding remains effective.
