A 40 mm analog watch with a case and strap made from upcycled ocean-bound plastic, quartz movement, black Arabic dial, date window, Indiglo backlight, mineral glass and 30 m water resistance
The Timex Waterbury Ocean is a 40 mm analog watch built with a case crafted from upcycled blue tide ocean-bound plastic. A quartz movement powers the black dial with full Arabic numerals, a date window and the Indiglo backlight for low-light readability. The matching strap uses the same recycled material and fastens with a buckle clasp.
This model upgrades from standard resin or virgin-plastic cases by using recovered ocean-bound material without changing the familiar 11.5 mm profile or 20 mm lug width. The jump is worth it when you want a reliable quartz watch that also diverts waste from marine environments. Buyers who need a metal case or higher water rating should look elsewhere.
Under sustained daily use the quartz movement keeps steady time without the drift seen in mechanical movements over long periods. Mineral glass and a solid case back protect the module to 30 metres water resistance, suitable for hand-washing and rain but not for swimming or diving. The Indiglo backlight remains readable after repeated activations.
