Timken 310WD Radial Ball Bearing

The Timken 310WD is a new radial ball bearing carrying industry number 6310. It suits maintenance teams and equipment builders who need a metric-dimension bearing with a single shield for contamination protection.

Upgrade from open or worn 6310 units

This bearing replaces open-type or damaged 6310 bearings where a single shield adds debris resistance without the friction of a double-sealed design. The jump is worth it when the application runs in a moderately dirty environment but does not require the drag of a contact seal.

Sustained-load behaviour

The alloy-steel rings and steel cage deliver a dynamic radial load capacity of 20,800 lbf at ABEC 1 tolerance. Under continuous operation the Quaker Ferrocote lubricant maintains film strength while the single shield limits particle ingress, giving predictable life without the heat buildup of a fully sealed variant.

Questions about this item

What shaft diameter does the 50 mm bore fit?

The bore diameter is 50 mm with a tolerance of +0/-0.012 mm, so it fits a shaft of that nominal size.

How is the single shielded 6310 bearing installed, and what step is often missed?

Press the bearing onto the shaft using a sleeve that contacts only the inner ring; the common mistake is pressing on the outer ring or shield, which damages the bearing.

When will the Quaker Ferrocote lubricant need replacement?

Relubrication intervals depend on operating speed, load and temperature; monitor condition and follow a maintenance schedule based on the application.
