Creative Fisheye for Sony APS-C

The Tokina SZ 8mm f/2.8 Fisheye lens delivers a 180° angle of view on Sony E-mount APS-C cameras. Its 11 elements in 9 groups with multi-coating minimize ghosting and flare. The fast f/2.8 aperture supports low-light work and shallow depth effects. At 280g and 52mm long, it suits mobile creative shooting.

Verify Mount and Focus Style

Confirm your camera uses the Sony E mount and has an APS-C sensor before ordering. This is a manual-focus lens with no autofocus motor or electronic aperture control. The minimum focusing distance is 0.1m with a 1:10 macro ratio. Ensure you are comfortable setting focus and aperture by hand.

Manual Prime in a Mirrorless Kit

The lens mounts directly to any Sony E-mount APS-C body and needs no adapter or external power. Its compact 52mm length keeps the setup balanced on small mirrorless bodies. The wide 180° view frees you from stitching panoramas in tight interiors or landscapes. It covers creative, vlogging and close-up work with a single prime.

Questions about this item

Does the Tokina SZ 8mm f/2.8 Fisheye lens come with front and rear caps, or do I need to buy them separately?

The lens ships with front and rear caps included in the box, so no separate purchase is required for basic protection.

Is the f/2.8 maximum aperture on this 8mm fisheye fast enough for low-light nightscapes and indoor architecture shots?

Yes, the constant f/2.8 aperture gathers ample light for nightscapes and interiors, while the 180° angle of view captures the full scene.

How close can I focus with the 0.1 m minimum distance, and what magnification does the 1:10 macro ratio give on an APS-C sensor?

At 0.1 m you can fill the frame with small subjects; the 1:10 ratio means the subject appears one-tenth life-size on the sensor.
