What the Tonstep 5344155 does and who it serves

This compact Bluetooth 5.3 adapter adds wireless audio to any device with a 3.5 mm jack. In transmitter mode it streams sound from a TV, PC or MP3 player to Bluetooth headphones or speakers. In receiver mode it upgrades wired speakers or car stereos so they can play audio from a phone, tablet or laptop. The external 5 dBi high-gain antenna extends the open-area range to 150 m, giving reliable coverage across a living room or small office.

What to verify before ordering

Ensure the source device has a standard 3.5 mm audio output for transmitter use or that the target speaker system has a 3.5 mm input for receiver use. The adapter draws power from any USB port, so a spare port or USB charger is required. Windows 11, 10 and 8.1 support plug-and-play operation; Windows 7 needs a manual driver installation. No other operating systems are mentioned in the specifications.

Sustained-use behaviour

The high-gain antenna maintains a stable link at distances far beyond typical indoor rooms, reducing drop-outs during long listening sessions. Automatic re-connection in receiver mode restores the link without user intervention after a temporary interruption. Because the unit is powered continuously from USB, there is no battery to deplete during extended operation, and the compact 132 x 58 x 12 mm form factor stays cool under constant use.

Questions about this item

Does the Tonstep 5344155 include the 3.5 mm audio cable needed for transmitter mode, or must I buy it separately?

The adapter comes with a 3.5 mm audio plug in the box, so you can connect it to a TV or PC for transmitter mode without purchasing an extra cable.

Should I choose the 5 dBi high-gain antenna version for maximum range, or is there a lower-gain option?

This model is equipped with a fixed 5 dBi external antenna that delivers up to 150 m line-of-sight range; no alternative antenna variant is offered.

What does the 150 m range figure mean when the adapter is used indoors with walls and interference?

The 150 m specification applies to open-area conditions; indoors, walls and other wireless devices will reduce the practical distance, but the 5 dBi antenna still provides stronger coverage than standard adapters.
