Ideal fit

This TOPAI COBW1-480 kit delivers 16.4 feet of 8 mm wide COB LED strip at 3000 K warm white. The 480 LEDs per metre produce a dotless 4000 lm output with a 180° beam angle and CRI above 92. It suits homeowners wanting uniform under-cabinet, cove or accent lighting without visible hotspots.

Before ordering

The strip runs on 12 V DC and draws 30 W, so a 12 V 3 A supply with a 2.1 × 5.5 mm DC plug is required but not included. Control is via an application dimmer, also sold separately. The reel can be cut every 2.5 cm at marked points and uses 8 mm connectors for joins; the IP65 silicone coating handles splashes but not immersion.

Thermals and noise

LED operation is silent and generates minimal heat at the stated 30 W across the full length. The silicone encapsulation acts as a passive diffuser, keeping surface temperatures low during continuous use. No active cooling is needed, and the low-voltage design remains safe to touch while powered.

Questions about this item

Does the 16.4ft COB strip include the 12V 3A power supply and 8mm connectors, or must they be purchased separately?

The kit ships with pre-soldered 2.1 x 5.5mm DC female connector and 8mm connectors for linking strips; a 12V 3A power supply is not included and must be bought separately.

Should I choose the 480LED/m 3000K IP65 version or the 400LED/m 2700K non-waterproof alternative for a kitchen backsplash?

For a kitchen the 480LED/m 3000K IP65 strip is better: higher density gives 4000lm output and CRI>92, while the silicone coating handles splashes and steam.

In practice, what does the 4000lm rating mean when the 16.4ft strip is powered by a 12V 3A adapter?

At 30 watts the strip delivers 4000lm of warm white light across 180° beam angle, with uniform COB output and no dark spots along the full 16.4ft length.
