CompactFlash USB 3.0 reader
The TOPRAM RV34 is a single-slot external reader for CompactFlash Type I cards. It connects through a USB 3.0 interface and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 hosts. The unit draws power from the USB bus and requires no external adapter. It targets photographers and technicians who need to transfer images or data from legacy CF media.
Slim plug-and-play enclosure
The compact housing holds one card and supports hot-swap operation so cards can be exchanged without restarting the computer. A single USB cable carries both data and power, keeping the desk free of extra cords. The lightweight build makes it easy to carry in a laptop bag for field offloads.
Limited to CF Type I and 128 GB
The reader accepts only CompactFlash Type I cards and the supplier notes support up to 128 GB capacity. Cards larger than that or Type II cards will not work. Transfer speed is capped by the USB 3.0 super-speed ceiling of 5 Gbps and by the card’s own rating. Buyers needing SD, microSD or CFexpress support must choose a different device.

Questions about this item
What USB standard does the TOPRAM RV34 use and what practical transfer ceiling does that impose?
It uses USB 3.0, so the interface tops out at 5 Gbps in super-speed mode.
What physical card size and type does the single slot accept?
The slot takes one CompactFlash Type I card and nothing thicker.
How do I install the reader and what step do people often skip?
Plug it into a USB port — no driver needed — then insert the card; the step many miss is waiting for the OS to recognise the volume before removing it.
