500GB 2.5-inch 7200 RPM SATA hard drive with 16MB cache and 7mm slim profile for thin laptops
The Toshiba MQ01ACF050 is a 500 GB internal hard drive built in a 7 mm 2.5 inch form factor. It targets laptops ultrabooks and small desktops that cannot accept a 9.5 mm drive. The SATA 6.0 Gb/s interface connects to standard motherboards and enclosures without adapters.
Spinning at 7200 RPM the drive moves data faster than typical 5400 RPM mobile units. The 16 MB buffer smooths burst workloads and keeps the SATA link busy. Power draw and acoustic output remain within normal ranges for a single-platter 2.5 inch mechanical drive.
The drive ships in an anti-static bag without screws cables brackets or retail packaging. Native Command Queuing reorders commands to reduce head movement and improve throughput. S.M.A.R.T. monitoring reports health attributes so software can warn of developing faults before data loss occurs.
Measured against everything we stock in 3.5-Inch Internal Desktop HDDs, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Slide the SATA data and power connectors into the laptop or desktop bay; the step people miss is checking that the chassis accepts a 7mm height because many bays are built for 9.5mm drives.
No routine maintenance is required; the drive will eventually need replacement when S.M.A.R.T. attributes indicate wear or when mechanical failure occurs after years of use.
The 7200 RPM mechanical throughput ceiling is reached before the 6.0 Gb/s interface saturates, so sustained transfers level off at the drive's physical media speed.
