Questions about this item

Will the 12x12 in flush frame fit a 12 1/4 in rough opening without shims?

Yes, the door is sized for a 12 1/4 in by 12 1/4 in rough opening so the flush frame seats directly.

How do I verify the self-latching tool-key slam latch is engaged after installation?

Close the door firmly; the piano hinge aligns the latch and the tool key will turn only when the bolt is fully thrown.

Does the package include the tool key and mounting screws for the eight 1/4 in holes?

The door ships with the self-latching tool key and ring; mounting screws for the eight 1/4 in diameter holes are not included.
