Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router with dual 10G ports

The TP-Link Archer GE800 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 gaming router that delivers a combined wireless rate of 19000 Mbps across the 6 GHz, 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands. It provides two 10 Gbps ports and four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports for high-speed wired connections. A USB 3.0 port enables network storage and media sharing. Game acceleration features and a dedicated gaming interface prioritise gaming traffic for lower latency.

Gamers needing multi-gig wired

This router suits households that want wireless speeds up to 11520 Mbps on the 6 GHz band and 5760 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, plus dual 10 Gbps Ethernet for NAS or gaming PCs. It also fits users who want built-in VPN server and client support for OpenVPN, WireGuard, PPTP and L2TP. Buyers who do not have Wi-Fi 7 devices or multi-gigabit internet plans will not use the headline wireless rates or the 10 Gbps ports. Those needing more than four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports should look at a model with additional ports.

Dual 10 Gbps ports plus four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports

The single specification that decides suitability is the combination of one 10 Gbps SFP+/RJ45 composite WAN/LAN port, one dedicated 10 Gbps WAN/LAN port and four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports. This layout supports true 10 Gbps wired throughput for both WAN and LAN devices simultaneously, which is essential for multi-gigabit fibre connections and high-speed local transfers. If your internet service or local network does not exceed 2.5 Gbps, the dual 10 Gbps ports provide no immediate benefit.
