USB 3.0 dual-band adapter

The Archer T4U Plus is a USB 3.0 wireless adapter that adds AC1300 dual-band Wi-Fi to a desktop or laptop. It connects through a standard USB 3.0 port and supports Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 and macOS 10.9 through 10.14. Two external 5 dBi high-gain antennas are included for improved reception.

USB 3.0 throughput ceiling

The USB 3.0 interface provides up to 10x the transfer speed of USB 2.0, which matches the 802.11ac wireless protocol’s maximum throughput of 1.3 Gbps. Actual wireless rates reach 400 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, so the bus does not limit the radio.

MU-MIMO support decides fit

MU-MIMO capability lets the adapter communicate with multiple compatible devices simultaneously, raising efficiency on busy networks. If your router lacks MU-MIMO, the adapter still works but cannot deliver that multi-user throughput gain. Buyers without a MU-MIMO router will not see the feature’s benefit.
