Outdoor Smart Plug IP44 Dual Outlet

The TP-LINK ET77 is a weather-resistant smart plug rated IP44 for outdoor use. It provides two independently controlled US-standard three-prong outlets so you can manage separate devices such as holiday lighting or irrigation valves from one unit. The plug connects via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for setup and works with Alexa, Google Assistant and SmartThings voice platforms.

Sustained Outdoor Operation

The IP44 rating protects against splashing rain and dust during continuous exposure, though the device is not designed for immersion or heavy downpours. Each outlet supports a maximum load of 15 A across the 110-240 V AC range, allowing extended operation of pumps, lights or seasonal décor without overheating. Timer and countdown schedules run locally on the plug, so recurring tasks continue even if the internet connection drops temporarily.

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Coverage Limits

The radio operates on the 2.4 GHz band only and will not join a 5 GHz network, even on dual-band routers that also broadcast 2.4 GHz. In clear line-of-sight conditions the manufacturer states a reach of up to 300 feet, but walls, foliage and interference from other 2.4 GHz devices will reduce the practical range. Buyers who need 5 GHz connectivity or mesh roaming across multiple access points should consider a different model.

Questions about this item

Does the ET77 generate noticeable heat or noise when both outlets run continuously?

The plug operates silently with no moving parts; normal warmth may occur at the maximum 15 A load, so ensure ventilation around the unit.

What must I already have at home for the ET77 to function?

A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, a standard US three-prong outdoor receptacle, and the Kasa app on a smartphone for setup.

Can I keep using my older 2.4 GHz-only router with this plug?

Yes, the ET77 connects exclusively to 2.4 GHz networks and works with any router broadcasting that band.
