Matter smart plug for home automation

This two-pack of Matter-certified smart plugs lets you control appliances from Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings or the AiDot app without installing separate manufacturer apps. Each outlet handles up to 15 amps and 1800 watts, making it suitable for lamps, fans and small kitchen devices. The plugs connect over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and remain controllable on your local network even when the internet is down.

Check your hub and Wi-Fi before ordering

A Matter-certified hub or controller such as a HomePod, Echo Dot, Nest Hub or SmartThings Hub is required to use the plugs with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home or SmartThings. The AiDot app works without a hub if you prefer that route. Your router must broadcast a 2.4 GHz network; the plugs do not support 5 GHz bands. Verify that the devices you want to switch on do not exceed the 15 A or 1800 W rating.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

The plugs are rated for 15 A and 1800 W maximum load, so they draw only the power consumed by the connected appliance plus a small standby amount for the Wi-Fi radio. No fan or active cooling is present, so operation is silent. The white polycarbonate housing stays at ambient temperature under typical household loads. Each unit weighs 0.168 kilograms.

Questions about this item

What comes in the 2-pack and is a hub needed for Apple Home?

The box contains two Matter-certified smart plugs. A Matter-certified hub such as HomePod is required for Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home or SmartThings; the AiDot app works without a hub.

Which version should I choose for a 15 A circuit?

This model is rated 15 A and 1800 W maximum, matching standard US 15 A outlets.

What does the 2.4 G Wi-Fi spec mean for daily use?

The plug connects only to 2.4 GHz networks, so it will not join a 5 GHz band; once paired it works locally over LAN even if the internet goes down.
