Omada 20-Port Gigabit Switch

The TP-Link Omada switch is a 20-port Gigabit Easy Managed switch with 16 PoE+ ports and two SFP slots. It delivers a 250 W PoE budget and consumes 289.70 W. The unit supports 10/100/1000Base-T and 1000Base-X connections with Layer 2 features.

Suits PoE deployments needing fibre uplinks

This switch fits networks that power 16 PoE+ devices such as access points or cameras while using two SFP ports for fibre uplinks. It is not for buyers who need more than 16 powered ports or a PoE budget above 250 W. It is also not for environments that require Layer 3 routing or 10 GbE connectivity.

250 W PoE budget decides fit

The 250 W PoE budget determines how many Class 4 devices can run simultaneously. If the total draw of powered devices stays within this limit the switch works; if it exceeds the budget some ports will not power up. Check device power needs against this figure before purchasing.

Questions about this item

What type of cable is needed for the 16 PoE+ ports to deliver both data and power?

Standard Ethernet cable rated for Gigabit speeds carries data and PoE+ power to connected devices such as access points or IP cameras.

Will the two SFP slots accept the 1000Base-X modules I already use on older switches?

Yes, the SFP slots support 1000Base-X transceivers for fibre uplinks compatible with existing Gigabit fibre links.

How can I confirm the 250 W PoE budget is being allocated correctly after installation?

The management interface shows real-time power draw per port so you can verify the total stays within the 250 W budget.
