Dual-band coverage up to 750 Mbps
The TP-Link RE220 is a new AC750 wireless range extender that plugs directly into a wall outlet. It supports IEEE 802.11ac, 802.11n, 802.11g and 802.11b standards on both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz bands. The unit delivers up to 433 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Three internal antennas and a transmit power below 20 dBm EIRP handle signal distribution for homes and small offices.
Placement flexibility with a single Ethernet port
The miniature wall-mounted design requires only a mains socket and frees up desk or shelf space. A 10/100M Ethernet port allows a wired device such as a smart TV or games console to join the extended network. The RE button and a smart signal indicator help locate the optimal position between the existing router and the dead zone. Power draw is about 6.5 W and operating temperature ranges from 0 to 40 degrees Celsius.
Suits owners of standard routers needing simple
This extender works with any standard Wi-Fi router and supports WPA2-PSK security, making it a fit for households adding coverage for phones, tablets, smart plugs, bulbs or voice assistants. Buyers who need gigabit wired backhaul, mesh roaming with a single SSID, or outdoor-rated hardware should look at other product types.

Questions about this item
Will the single 10/100M Ethernet port bottleneck sustained throughput on the 433 Mbps 5 GHz band?
Yes, the 100 Mbps wired link caps continuous traffic well below the 433 Mbps radio rate.
How warm does the RE220 get when running 24/7 at its 6.5 W rating?
It operates within 0–40 °C ambient; the low 6.5 W draw keeps surface temperature only slightly above room level.
What existing network gear is required before the extender can join the Wi-Fi?
Any standard router or gateway broadcasting 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz 802.11 b/g/n/ac signals.
