A PCI Express wireless adapter delivering up to 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band with detachable antennas and WPS security
The TP-Link TL-WN881ND is a PCI Express x1 wireless adapter that adds IEEE 802.11b/g/n connectivity to a desktop computer. It delivers wireless data rates up to 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and includes two detachable RP-SMA antennas for flexible placement. The card supports WPA/WPA2 encryption and WPS for quick setup. It is suited for users who need basic wireless access for streaming, calls or light gaming.
The adapter has no fan and relies on passive cooling, so it adds no audible noise to the system. Operating temperature is rated from 0 °C to 40 °C and humidity from 10 % to 90 % non-condensing. Power consumption is minimal, drawing only what the PCI Express slot supplies. No external power connector or additional case airflow is required for normal operation.
The card installs in any available PCI Express x1 slot and ships with a low-profile bracket for small-form-factor cases. Two detachable antennas can be positioned for best signal or replaced with higher-gain models using the RP-SMA connectors. Driver support covers Windows 10 down to Windows 7 and Linux kernels 2.6.24 to 4.1. Using this adapter leaves USB ports free for peripherals. Builders needing 5 GHz band or Bluetooth must choose a different card.

Other versions of this model
Insert the card into a free PCI Express x1 slot, attach the two RP-SMA antennas, then run the driver from the resource CD or download it for Windows 10/8.1/8/7 or Linux 2.6.24~4.1 before expecting a connection.
The two detachable omni-directional RP-SMA antennas are the only user-serviceable parts; if one is damaged or the connector loosens, replace that antenna.
The adapter is rated for 0°C to 40°C operating temperature; exceeding 40°C will trigger throttling or shutdown before any other limit is reached.
