24-port 2.5G managed switch

The TP-Link TLSG3428XM2 is a JetStream L2+ managed switch with twenty-four 2.5GBASE-T ports and four 10 Gbps SFP+ uplinks. It delivers a 500 W PoE budget across eight PoE++ and sixteen PoE+ ports. The switch integrates with Omada SDN for zero-touch provisioning and centralised cloud management.

Suits Wi-Fi 6 AP deployments

This switch fits networks that need high-density 2.5G connectivity and substantial PoE power for Wi-Fi 6 access points, IP cameras or VoIP phones. It is not for buyers who only require Gigabit speeds or a smaller port count. Builders needing Layer 3 routing or a lower power budget should look at other models.

Rackmount core with SFP+ uplinks

The unit installs in a standard rack and uses the four SFP+ slots for 10 Gbps fibre or copper uplinks to aggregation switches or servers. Its L2+ feature set handles static routing, QoS and IGMP snooping without extra licences. Security tools such as IP-MAC-Port binding, ACLs and 802.1X authentication help protect the LAN.

Questions about this item

What do I need to use the 10 Gbps SFP+ uplinks on this switch?

You need SFP+ transceivers or direct-attach cables rated for 10 Gbps and matching fibre or copper media.

Will my 1 Gbps IP cameras work on the 2.5 Gbps PoE+ ports?

Yes, the 16 PoE+ ports operate at 2.5 Gbps and will negotiate down to 1 Gbps for older cameras.

How can I confirm the 500 W PoE budget is being used correctly?

Check the Omada cloud dashboard or local web UI for real-time per-port power draw and total consumption.
