SKU CH-EZGB-Q5YY7 MPN M/E-PSW-FX-02-EU

Converts 10/100Base-TX copper to 100Base-FX multimode fiber up to 2 km with a miniature footprint

  • HighlightsNetwork Technology:10/100Base-TX Network Technology:100Base-
  • Converts copper to fibre with smallest industry footprint
  • Connects 10 Mbps devices to 100 Mbps networks
  • Separates collision domains via full-duplex fibre link
  • Extends network reach up to 2 km
  • Miniature size saves space in 10/100 UTP environments

Network Media Converter

The Transition Networks M/E-PSW-FX-02-EU converts a 10/100Base-TX copper link to a 100Base-FX fibre connection over multi-mode cable up to 2 kilometres. It connects legacy 10 Mbps equipment to 100 Mbps devices and separates collision domains between half-duplex hubs.

Installers Extending Copper Runs Over Fibre

This unit suits technicians who need to bridge UTP segments with fibre in space-constrained cabinets. It is not for networks that require gigabit speeds, single-mode reach, or managed switching features.

100Base-FX Multi-Mode 2 km Reach

The transceiver operates at 100 Mbps over multi-mode fibre with a 2 km distance rating. Verify that the link budget and connector type match the existing fibre plant before deployment.

Questions about this item

Does the M/E-PSW-FX-02-EU include the fiber patch cable or must I buy it separately?

The unit is a standalone media converter with an ST port; fiber patch cables are not included and must be purchased separately.

The specs list 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX — which speed should I select for my link?

The copper port handles 10 or 100 Mbps automatically, while the fiber side runs at 100 Mbps only; choose 100 Mbps full duplex on the fiber link for the 2 km reach.

What does the 2 km figure mean when the converter is installed in a live network?

It is the maximum multimode fiber distance at 100 Mbps; actual reach depends on cable quality, connector loss and the power budget of the connected equipment.
