Network transceiver for copper and fibre links

The Transition Networks SGPAT1013-105-NA is a media converter module that bridges twisted-pair and optical networks. It suits administrators who need a single device to connect 10/100/1000Base-T equipment to fibre infrastructure.

Distance limits defined by 1000Base-SX

The module supports both short-wave and long-wave gigabit fibre, so reach is constrained by the specific optic chosen and the fibre grade deployed. Copper links remain limited to the standard 100-metre segment for 1000Base-T.

Dual-rate 1000Base-X and 10/100/1000Base-T

This single specification determines whether the transceiver matches the switch port and cabling plant. Verify that the host equipment accepts the same gigabit Ethernet variants before purchase.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 10/100/1000Base-T or the 1000Base-SX/LX version for my network?

This single transceiver supports both copper and fibre standards, so you do not need to choose between them.

What does the 1000Base-X rating mean when the module is installed in a switch?

It indicates a gigabit Ethernet link over the SFP cage using the appropriate fibre or copper media.

Which SFP standard does the SGPAT1013-105 follow and what speed does that limit me to?

The module uses the SFP form factor and is rated for 1000 Mbps across all listed network technologies.
