Victorian Skeleton Key Hook

This cast-iron hook reproduces a Victorian-era skeleton key set into a door lock. It mounts on a wall with two pre-drilled holes and the key protrudes four inches to hold coats, hats, key rings or towels. The clear coat finish protects the detailed scroll work. It suits period-style hallways, kitchens or bathrooms.

Capacity and headroom

The single key arm supports everyday items such as jackets, handbags or wet towels. Heavier winter coats or bundled bags may exceed its practical limit and cause the hook to bend or pull from the wall. The two mounting holes distribute load but require solid wall material or suitable anchors.

Clear coat finish and packaging

The factory-applied clear coat seals the cast iron against moisture and fingerprints, reducing rust risk in humid rooms. The hook ships in the manufacturer's original packaging, so it arrives free of shop handling marks and ready for immediate installation.

Questions about this item

Will the 5 inch long cast iron Victorian skeleton key hook hold a heavy winter coat alongside my existing wooden coat rack?

The hook measures 5 inches long by 2 inches wide and protrudes 4 inches from the wall, so it can hold a coat or hat alongside other hardware you already have mounted.

How can I confirm the clear coat finish on the cast iron Victorian skeleton key hook is properly applied after I mount it?

Inspect the scroll work and key shape for an even, glossy sheen with no bare metal showing; the finish should feel smooth and uniform across the entire cast iron surface.

Does the cast iron Victorian skeleton key hook come with mounting screws or do I need to buy them separately?

The hook features two mounting holes and ships brand new in the manufacturer's packaging; mounting screws are not included and must be purchased separately.
