USB 3.0 AC1900 adapter

The TEW-809UB connects a desktop or laptop to dual-band Wireless AC networks at up to 1300 Mbps or Wireless N at 600 Mbps. It targets users who need faster Wi-Fi than built-in radios provide and who prefer a USB device over an internal card. Four detachable 5 dBi antennas extend coverage in larger rooms. Setup runs on Windows from XP through 10 and on Mac OS 10.6 to 10.11.

Desktop placement and antenna freedom

A 0.91 m USB 3.0 Micro-B to Type-A cable lets you position the adapter away from the chassis for better signal. The four RP-SMA connectors accept the included high-gain antennas or replacements you choose. No internal slot or driver DVD drive is required; the CD-ROM supplies drivers and a guide for systems without internet access. The compact 0.79 x 3.35 x 2.95 inch body fits on any flat surface.

Sustained throughput with high-power radio

The high-power radio maintains the 1.9 Gbps aggregate link rate during long streaming or gaming sessions. 256-QAM modulation on the 5 GHz band keeps efficiency high when the channel is busy. Operating temperature spans 0 °C to 40 °C, so extended loads stay within spec. WPA2-PSK encryption secures traffic without adding processor overhead.
