Outdoor 5 GHz bridge

The TRENDnet TEW-840APBO is a 5 GHz AC867 access point built for point-to-point WiFi bridging. It uses a 14 dBi directional antenna to focus the signal over long outdoor links. The IP56 rated housing protects the electronics from dust and water in exposed locations. It suits installers who need a dedicated wireless bridge between two fixed sites.

Capacity and headroom

AC867 throughput handles typical bridge traffic such as IP cameras, remote offices or building-to-building links. MU-MIMO processes multiple spatial streams simultaneously to maintain real-time performance when several devices share the link. The 14 dBi gain provides strong directional reach but offers no coverage behind the antenna. It runs out of headroom when the path requires omnidirectional service or non-line-of-sight penetration.

Bundled PoE and mounting

A proprietary PoE power adapter delivers data and power over a single Ethernet cable, removing the need for a separate outdoor outlet. Included wall and pole mounting hardware lets you secure the unit to vertical surfaces or masts without extra brackets. These accessories reduce installation time and part count for a typical bridge deployment.
