16-port Industrial Gigabit switch

The TRENDnet TI-G162 is a 16-port Industrial Gigabit DIN-Rail switch built for harsh environments. It provides 14 RJ45 ports and two SFP slots for fiber uplinks in a rugged IP50 metal housing. The unit operates reliably from -40° to 75° C and includes redundant power inputs with overload current protection.

Suited for industrial networks needing fiber

This switch suits installers who need DIN-Rail or wall mounting, wide temperature tolerance and fiber uplinks for long-distance links. It is not for buyers who require Power over Ethernet, managed features such as VLANs or QoS, or more than two SFP slots for aggregate fiber bandwidth.

32 Gbps switching capacity

The fabric delivers 32 Gbps of non-blocking switching capacity across all 16 Gigabit ports. This single figure determines whether the switch can sustain full line-rate traffic on every port simultaneously in your application.

Questions about this item

Does the TI-G162 need a fan to stay cool when it runs all day in a cabinet?

The switch uses a rugged IP50 metal enclosure with no moving parts and is rated for continuous operation from -40 °C to 75 °C.

What power sources must I already have to run the two redundant inputs on this switch?

The unit accepts two DC supplies on its terminal block; you provide the wires and the sources.

Will the two SFP slots on the TI-G162 work with the 1000Base-FX modules I already use on older gear?

Yes, the two Gigabit SFP ports support 1000Base-FX modules for long-distance fiber links.
