Industrial 8-Port Gigabit Switch

The TRENDnet TI-G80 is an unmanaged DIN-rail switch built for harsh environments. Eight Gigabit Ethernet ports provide 16 Gbps switching capacity in a hardened IP30-rated metal enclosure. It operates reliably from -40 to 75 degrees Celsius and meets NDAA and TAA compliance requirements.

Silent Operation and Low Power Draw

With no moving parts the switch runs completely silent in normal use. Maximum power consumption is 5 Watts while accepting 12 to 56 V DC through dual redundant inputs with overload current protection. An alarm output signals any power failure for immediate awareness.

Flexible Mounting and Redundant Power

The compact metal housing measures 1.40 by 5.60 by 4.10 inches and weighs 1.10 lbs, fitting standard DIN rails or wall mounts included in the box. Dual DC power terminals allow a backup supply such as the compatible TI-M6024 to keep the network running if one source fails.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the TI-G80 on a DIN rail?

Snap the included DIN-rail clip onto the switch, slide it onto a standard rail until it clicks, then tighten the set screw; the step often missed is securing that screw so vibration does not loosen the unit.

What maintenance or replacement will the TI-G80 need later?

The fanless, unmanaged design has no moving parts or firmware updates; only the external power supply (model TI-M6024, sold separately) may need replacement if its output drifts outside the 12-56 V DC range.

What limit appears first under sustained full load?

The 1 MB packet buffer and 8K MAC address table fill before the 16 Gbps switching fabric saturates, so bursty traffic from multiple 2000 Mbps ports can cause drops while the backplane still has headroom.
