4-Port Console Server with 4G LTE

The Tripp Lite B093-004-2E4U-V provides secure out-of-band management for up to four serial devices such as routers and UPS units. A built-in cellular modem with dual SIM slots ensures connectivity when the primary network is unavailable. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports support automatic failover for continuous access. It is designed for network administrators who need reliable remote control of serial-based infrastructure.

Installation and common issues

The 1U rack-mountable chassis includes mounting hardware and rubber feet for desktop use. An external power supply accepts 100-240 V AC at 50/60 Hz and delivers 12 V at 1.25 A with a four-foot cord. Four international plug adapters cover North America, Europe, UK and Australia. Installers should verify that the supplied DB9F-to-RJ45 crossover adapters match the pinout of the target Cisco equipment to avoid communication failures.

Cellular and Ethernet limits

The integrated 4G LTE modem provides a fallback path but throughput depends entirely on carrier signal quality and data plan limits. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports operate at 1000Base-X over twisted pair cabling. The four serial ports and four USB ports share the single management gateway bandwidth. PoE is not available on the RJ-45 ports so connected serial devices require their own power sources.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the console server is operating correctly after installation?

Check the front-panel status LEDs for power, dual Gigabit Ethernet link activity, and 4G LTE signal strength; then log into the web interface to confirm all four serial ports show active connections to your managed devices.

What ships with the unit and what must I source separately?

The package includes the server, two antenna blades, terminal block, dual-SIM cradle, DB9F-to-RJ45 crossover adapter, external 12 V 1.25 A power supply with 4 ft cord, four international plug adapters, rack-mount hardware, four rubber feet and a quick-start guide; you supply the SIM cards and Cat5e/6 patch cables.

Which SIM configuration should I choose for maximum uptime?

Use both SIM slots with cards from different carriers so the built-in 4G LTE modem can fail over automatically if one network becomes unavailable.
