4×4 HDMI Matrix Switch

The Tripp Lite B119-4X4-4KL routes four HDMI sources to four independent displays. It supports video up to 4096 x 2160 and 1080p signals. Classrooms, retail signage and home theatres can share or separate content across multiple screens. The unit handles laptops, media players, consoles and satellite boxes.

HDMI 4K switching limits

Each output can show a different 4K source or mirror the same image. The switch passes 4096 x 2160 resolution but does not transcode or scale between formats. Bandwidth is constrained by the HDMI interface used, so very high refresh rates at maximum resolution may not be sustained. Audio follows the video path without separate extraction.

Front-panel, RS-232 and IR control

Push buttons on the chassis give immediate local switching. An RS-232 port enables automated or centralised control systems. The included IR remote allows operation from a distance, useful for presenters or installed ceilings. No network or app-based management is provided.

Questions about this item

Should I pick this 4x4 matrix over a smaller switch?

Choose this model when you need to route four sources to four displays independently; a smaller switch cannot send different 4K signals to each screen simultaneously.

What does 4096 x 2160 mean on my screen?

It is the maximum resolution the matrix can pass, so a 4K UHD source appears at full detail on every connected display without downscaling.

How does the RS-232 port limit control options?

The serial link accepts text commands for source selection and routing, letting a control system automate switching but it carries no video or audio itself.
