Mountable power strip for display mounts

The Tripp Lite DMACUSB clips onto a pole or display mount and delivers four receptacles in a compact black housing. Two USB ports and two NEMA 5-15 outlets share a 3.4 A USB current rating and an 8 A total AC rating. A six-foot cord with a NEMA 5-15P plug connects the unit to a 120 V AC supply. The clamp includes a rubber pad and thumbscrew for secure attachment without tools.

Practical limits of the clip-on form factor

The 3.9-inch height and 1.3-inch width fit narrow mounting surfaces, while the 4.1-inch depth keeps the unit close to the pole. Surge protection is not included, so sensitive equipment should use a separate suppressor upstream. The 8 A AC limit means the combined draw of all four outlets must stay below that threshold. USB ports supply up to 3.4 A total, which may not fast-charge multiple tablets simultaneously.

The 3.4 A shared USB current decides suitability

If the devices you plan to charge need more than 3.4 A combined, this clip will throttle them or trip its internal protection. Buyers who want more storage or additional AC outlets beyond the two provided should consider a larger power distribution unit. The single fixed 6 ft cord length also rules out installations where the nearest socket is farther away.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the model with two USB ports and two NEMA 5-15 outlets or a simpler power strip for my display mount?

This clip provides two USB ports and two NEMA 5-15 receptacles in a single pole-mountable unit, so you can charge USB devices and power AC equipment without a separate strip.

What does the 3.4 A rating mean when I plug in a phone and a tablet at the same time?

The two USB ports share a total of 3.4 A at 5 V, so a phone and tablet can charge together, but the combined draw cannot exceed that limit.

How does the NEMA 5-15P plug and 120 V rating affect what I can connect?

The 6 ft cord ends in a standard NEMA 5-15P plug for 120 V AC outlets, and the two AC receptacles are rated for 8 A each, limiting attached gear to that current.
