The Tripp Lite N784-MDC-4SCSC converts a multimode fiber signal to singlemode and extends the link up to 40 kilometres (24.9 miles). It operates at 1310 nm with a 100 Mbps transfer rate and connects via SC interfaces. Network engineers can use it to bridge distant hubs, switches or other equipment in expanding data centres.

Sustained link stability and diagnostics

The converter maintains the extended connection continuously across the full distance rating. Side-mounted LEDs display network speed, link status, signal diagnostics and unit power in real time. The indicators also reveal when a fiber cable has been severed or another service disruption occurs, allowing immediate troubleshooting without interrupting the data path.

Rugged metal housing for 0 to 70 °C operation

A protective metal case shields the internal circuitry and supports an operating temperature range from 0 to 70 degrees Celsius. The sturdy construction withstands environmental hazards found in equipment rooms and industrial settings. No moving parts are present, so the unit runs silently while drawing only the power required for signal conversion.
