Five-port unmanaged Fast Ethernet switch in a rugged metal housing for industrial DIN-rail or wall mounting, operating from -40 to 167 °F
The Tripp Lite NFI-U05 is a five-port Fast Ethernet switch built for industrial and commercial environments. It operates reliably across temperatures from -40 to 167 degrees Fahrenheit and withstands vibration and shock. The unmanaged design requires little to no configuration for quick deployment. TAA compliance makes it suitable for government procurement.
The rugged metal housing supports DIN rail and wall mounting for space-constrained installations. Five auto-negotiating 10/100 Mbps ports connect devices over twisted-pair cabling. The switch draws only 3 W of power, reducing load on limited supplies. MAC address autolearning and auto-aging handle traffic forwarding without user intervention.
This unit replaces basic unmanaged switches that lack extended temperature ratings or ruggedized enclosures. The jump is worthwhile when deploying networking gear on factory floors, in warehouses, or in outdoor cabinets where standard hardware fails. It is not for installations requiring managed features such as VLANs, QoS, or remote monitoring.

Five auto-negotiating 10/100 Mbps ports share the switch's internal bandwidth; each port is limited to 100 Mbps full duplex.
The switch consumes 3 W during operation, so heat output remains low even in extended use.
It mounts on DIN rail or wall and requires an external DC power source connected to its terminal block.
