The Tripp Lite PDUMH20AT is a 1U horizontal power distribution unit that provides 16 NEMA 5-15/20R outlets fed by dual 120V inputs. It is built for network equipment that has only a single power cord but needs redundant A and B source protection. A digital meter shows total load in amps for quick capacity checks.

Tool-free rack mount with sequential startup

The unit ships with 1U brackets that fit two-post or four-post racks and two 12-foot L5-20P cords plus 5-20P adapters for flexible source connections. Outlets energise at 250-millisecond intervals on first power-up to limit inrush current. The only common issue is ensuring both input circuits are on separate breakers so the auto-transfer function can actually protect against a single-source failure.

1.9 kW capacity with 20 A input limit

At 120V the PDU delivers up to 1.9 kW continuous, enough for a full rack of switches, firewalls and servers drawing up to 20 A combined. The meter helps keep aggregate load below the breaker threshold. It runs out of headroom when total connected equipment exceeds the 20 A input rating or when both sources share the same upstream circuit, defeating redundancy.
