Metered 1U rack PDU

The Tripp Lite PDUMH20HV is a horizontal 1U power distribution unit for 19-inch racks. It accepts 200-240V single-phase input at up to 20A and provides ten IEC outlets: eight C13 and two C19. A digital LED meter displays the combined output current in one-amp increments. The unit ships with a detachable 12 ft cord and both C20 and L6-20P input plugs.

Continuous 16A limit on a single load bank

Agency de-rating restricts continuous draw to 16A across all ten outlets, which share one unbreakered metered bank. The meter reports total PDU current only, not per-outlet readings. Input frequency is 50/60Hz and output voltage matches the 200-240V input range. No overload protection is built in, so external branch-circuit protection must handle fault currents. Operating elevation is rated from 0 to 10,000 ft.

Reversible housing with included brackets

Mounting brackets support horizontal installation in standard 19-inch two- or four-post racks, and the reversible housing allows front or rear outlet access. A cord retention bracket secures the input cable to prevent accidental disconnection. The 6.5 in depth fits shallow cabinets, but the single load bank means you cannot isolate critical loads on separate breakers. Buyers needing per-outlet metering or switched outlets must select a different PDU model.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the C20 inlet or the L6-20P plug for my rack power feed?

The PDU ships with a detachable cord that offers both a C20 connector and an L6-20P adapter, so you can match whichever receptacle your rack PDU or UPS provides without buying extra cables.

What does the 3.2-3.8 kW rating mean for the gear I plug into the 8 C13 and 2 C19 outlets?

At 208 V the unit delivers up to 3.2 kW and at 240 V up to 3.8 kW, but agencies de-rate continuous draw to 16 A, so plan your server and switch loads to stay below that sustained level.

How does the single metered load bank affect the 20 A input limit in practice?

All 10 outlets share one unbreakered bank monitored by the digital amp meter; the display shows total current in 1 A steps, letting you keep the combined load under the 16 A continuous / 20 A maximum rating.
