Rack-Mount ATS PDU for IT Equipment

The Tripp Lite PDUMNH15AT1 is a 1U horizontal power distribution unit designed for network IT applications and small computer rooms. It combines an auto-transfer switch with metered monitoring to maintain continuous power for connected rack equipment. Eight NEMA 5-15R outlets distribute 120V AC power to servers and networking gear. Dual 12 ft input cords with NEMA 5-15P plugs connect to separate power sources for redundancy.

Input Limits and Monitoring Capabilities

The unit accepts a maximum input current of 15A at 120V, delivering up to 1.44kW output at that voltage. Output voltage options include 100, 120 and 127V at 50/60Hz, with corresponding power ratings of 1.2kW, 1.44kW and 1.52kW. A built-in network interface enables remote monitoring of voltage, frequency and load levels through a Java-free HTML5 LX Platform. An on-site digital ammeter provides real-time load data to help prevent overloads.

Sub-7ms Transfer Speed for Continuous Operation

The auto-transfer switch moves from the primary to the secondary power source in less than 7 ms, ensuring uninterrupted operation for sensitive equipment during power anomalies. This transfer speed is the critical specification determining whether the PDU protects your specific workloads from disruption. The unit includes rack-mounting hardware, a cable retention kit, a configuration cable and a detachable secondary input cord. It operates at elevations up to 3000 m and meets UL 62368-1, CSA, NOM, RoHS and TAA requirements.

Questions about this item

Which outlet count and rack height match a 1U horizontal PDU with eight NEMA 5-15R receptacles?

This unit is a 1U horizontal PDU that provides exactly eight NEMA 5-15R outlets for rack equipment.

What does the 1.44kW rating mean when the PDU runs at 120V in a real rack?

At 120V the PDU delivers up to 1.44kW (1.44kVA) of output power, limited by the 15A input breaker.

How does the dual NEMA 5-15P input and automatic transfer switch cap failover time in practice?

Dual 12 ft cords with NEMA 5-15P plugs connect to separate sources, and the ATS switches in under 7 ms to maintain continuous operation.
