Direct Replacement Battery

The Tripp Lite RBC48-SUTWR is a 48 V DC battery unit built to restore runtime for SmartOnline expandable tower UPS models SU1500XL and SU2200XLA. It ships new and weighs 24.60 lb, matching the original form factor for tool-free installation.

48 V DC Output Compatibility

The single specification that determines fit is the 48 V DC output, which must match the UPS internal bus voltage exactly. Only the two listed SmartOnline tower models are confirmed compatible; other Tripp Lite series or third-party units are not supported.

Sustained Backup Performance

Under continuous load the sealed lead-acid cells deliver steady voltage until the UPS initiates its low-battery shutdown sequence. The 24.60 lb mass reflects the cell capacity needed for extended runtime during prolonged outages rather than brief sags.

Questions about this item

How does the 48 V DC output work once the battery is installed in my UPS?

The 48 V DC output feeds the UPS inverter directly so it can generate AC power for connected equipment when the mains supply fails.

What interface or standard does the battery use to connect to the SU1500XL or SU2200XLA?

It uses the proprietary battery connector built into the SmartOnline Expandable Tower UPS range; no separate cable or adapter is required.

Will the 24.60 lb unit fit inside the battery compartment of my SU2200XLA without modification?

Yes, the battery is designed as a direct replacement for the SU1500XL and SU2200XLA and slides into the existing compartment.
