Apple Lightning to USB-C sync cable
This MFi-certified cable connects an iPhone, iPad or iPod to a USB-C port on a computer, laptop or charger. It charges the device at up to 20 V 3 A (60 W) while transferring data at USB 2.0 speeds of 480 Mbps. The 2-metre length provides flexible placement for desk or bedside use. Antibacterial connectors and jacket inhibit 99.9 % of E. coli and staph bacteria.
Medical, education and shared-workspace users
The antibacterial construction suits clinics, schools, kitchens and offices where cables pass between many hands. MFi certification guarantees reliable charging and syncing with current Apple Lightning devices. Buyers who need USB 3 or higher data rates, or who connect non-Lightning devices such as USB-C Android phones, will find this cable does not meet those requirements.
MFi certification
Apple’s MFi programme validates that the cable meets the electrical and mechanical standards for safe charging and data transfer with Lightning-equipped iPhone, iPad and iPod models. Without this certification a cable may not negotiate the 20 V 3 A power profile or could trigger accessory warnings on the device.

Questions about this item
Does the antibacterial coating on the connectors and PVC jacket wear off with repeated cleaning?
The antibacterial material is integrated into the molded connectors and PVC jacket and remains 99.9 % effective against E. coli and staph for the life of the cable.
What limits the data transfer speed when syncing large photo libraries?
The cable operates at USB 2.0 speeds up to 480 Mbps, so the interface itself is the bottleneck during sustained transfers.
How much heat does the cable generate when charging at 60 W for several hours?
The cable is rated for 20 V 3 A (60 W) power delivery and is MFi-certified, so it handles continuous charging without excessive heat buildup.
